Stress is a completely natural part of life – maybe even more so during your college years! It is the reaction of the body and mind to meet everyday challenges and demands. And, studies show stress might even help you be healthier, happier and ultimately your best self.
Many students are able to keep their stress levels relatively under control or even thrive in the college setting. However, for some students, the challenges and frustrations of campus life appear to lead to “stress overload.” Wellness and Health Promotion Services offers several ways to help you reduce and manage stress.

Some of the relaxation features of this room include a massage chair, a soothing waterfall wall, yoga mats, meditation pillows, and adult coloring. We ask visitors to not bring homework or technology and to just visit this room in a state of being present. This place is not be used for meetings or for work, but to recover and inspire yourself. It is not a reserve-able space.
Located on the first floor North entrance of the student health services building, the Dawg Lounge is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters. This is the one space on campus to simply rest, breathe, and relax with no agenda.
The Dawg Lounge houses:
- An open relaxation area that includes a massage chair, water features, yoga mats, and meditation cushions!
- “Blue Space”, an ocean-themed room based on Blue Mind Theory.
- A “Stress Lab” - includes biofeedback and light therapy.
- Massage tools and extra massage chairs are available to use.
- Koru Mindfulness classes.
- Dogs visit the Dawg Lounge weekly. Call Wellness at (618) 536-4441 to inquire about days/times they come in. *Schedule changes on a semester basis.*
